Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. This restaurant is fantastic: lovely and lively ambiance, but not too loud. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We had an unusual bottle of wine and the sommelier clearly knows what she is doing. The price was very reasonable. Would go back in a second!

As usual the food was amazing. It can get pricey especially with a group of 4 or more, ordering alcohol impacts this as well. Must have items: black cod lettuce cups, Nobu Taco, black truffle sea bass, Anticucho lamp chops, & the shishito peppers. For dessert the shaved ice is amazing
