The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

Just one year in, The Salt Line has already established itself as one of the top dining spots in Northern Virginia.     We always bring our out-of-town visitors to Ruthie's All-Day - whether it is for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Today's lunch special - a pulled chicken sandwich with white barbeque sauce, cheese and crispy onions - was a hit with our guest. Ruthie's remains the best go-to dining venue in Arlington!

    I love Ambar in Clarendon! It never disappoints. No wonder they are always the highest rated brunch in the Northern VA area. The restaurant is beautiful, great for small or large groups, the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. I have celebrated multiple birthday's at this location (including most recent one this past November), had dinner with my family, and HHs with friends. You can't go wrong with Ambar in Clarendon! Highly recommend visiting this location, and eventually making your way to their other locations too :)
