Welcome to Nouveau Restaurant & Cellar Door.We are located at Balgownie Estate in Maiden Gully. Balgownie Estate is Bendigo’s oldest commercial Vineyard. We have been producing award winning wines from our first vintage back in 1972. Today you can visit our restaurant and cellar door and taste from our extensive selection of wines made from hand harvested fruit grown on their beautiful old vines that are now over 50 years old. Whilst here, take the opportunity to, dine in our restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our menus feature contemporary Seasonal Australian Cuisine, sourced from premium local suppliers. For Breakfast enjoy a romantic Champagne Breakfast (our version of it anyway…!)

Enjoy award-winning Balgownie wine right from the source, where our wine-making legacy first began back in 1969 with the planting of the first 5 acres of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in Bendigo.Balgownie Estate is a 5-star Halliday-rated Winery. Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery was born from a tiny idea two mates from Lancefield had one day whilst having a beer… “Let’s open a brewery!” They never expected that one day, several years later, Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery would become the special place it is today. It all began in 1888, when Henry Lindsay bought the former flour mill in Lancefield and converted it into a brewery (God bless him…). Lindsay trademarked the name ‘The Trent Brewery’ and began producing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In the years that followed, the brewery changed hands many times, continuing to trade until early 1898, when it seems both the building and equipment were put up for auction, although it did not find a buyer. Sadly, a mysterious fire gutted the building the night after the auction, signalling its closure. Gladly, our brewery is lost no more… Today, we are proud to welcome you and your friends to Lancefield’s brewery, Lost Watering Hole.

The Woodhouse Experience was sensational. We opted to include matching wines with each course and were surprised to note most of the selected wine were from the Heathcote region, supporting locals :) Every course was delicious and just the right serving size to leave us feeling satisfied, not full to the brim! Definitely our preferred fine dining venue

My friend and I enjoyed the beautiful day, view, delicious food and bubbles. We had excellent service with friendly knowledgeable staff. Being able to enjoy the experience in the peaceful ambience of the vineyard.

We had the French Cheese & Balgownie Wine Flight. Brilliant service - Michael was very informative and answered all our wine questions. The wine was delicious and paired so well with the cheese. Great views & ambient spot. Highly recommend!
