Sakura was established in 2009 as the first Japanese restaurant in Portsmouth. Since our opening night we have always strived to bring the taste of true Japanese cuisine to our customers, while adding friendly service, knowledge and a lot of enthusiasm for what we do.We have retained a lot of the features that made our restaurant popular in the Southsea area. Situated overlooking the water in Gunwharf Quays, Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant that specialise in pho noodle soup, the national dish of Vietnam. When we started out in 2017, we were cheffing up from the courtesy of our home in Portsmouth. It was all great fun and games until customers started showing up to our house for food collections… From there, we took a leap of faith, and a few box meals later, we had our very own market stall on Commercial Road. This was big for us. It was the first time we could connect with the community on a 1:1 basis and actually see customers fall in love after that first bite. Naturally, the food did it’s job, and as word spread, our small gazebo became a local sensation, bringing people together over plates of smoky and spicy delights.Spicing Up the CommunitySince 2017, our "fambily" has been serving up a modern twist on Jamaican cuisine and the community has been our rock. Come down to our 'Shack' in Portsmouth to experience where it all began and feel the vybez!

    Staff were very good - our server paid particular attention to my fussy eater Grandson to make sure he was enjoying his food and offering him alternatives. Food was great and we all enjoyed it. Perhaps add a dessert that’s dairy free - the polenta cake was a bit grainy!

    The food was delicious as always - super fresh and the portions are always great! The staff are lovely however service is quite slow. We were served our starters all bar one which was sat on the counter for 15 minutes before it was brought over. We come here regularly based on the food! It’s the best In Gunwharf 🌟

    Always good for Sunday lunch, an excellent Carvery with plenty of choices from small plates to regular, meats freshly carved choices of moist Pork, Turkey, Ham always thinly sliced and excellent plus Beef joints after that the vegetables are regularly changed with a selection of Stuffing, Brussels Sprouts, Peas, Mashed Swede, Roast Parsnips, Red Cabbage, Roast Potatoes Broccoli Cheese plus Gravy, Mustard, Horseradish, Apple Sauce etc Always busy and necessary to book so please b by up
