The name Melina is rooted in Greek origin and derives from the Greek word for "honey". "Mel" can be derived from the name Melissa meaning "honey-bee". The restaurant is named after the daughter of Co-Founder Chef Dimitri Moshovitis. “Melina” will honor the strength of the matriarchy in the Greek family. It will lean vegetable-forward with modernized Greek classics from the sea and grilled meats.     We enjoyed a 3 hour birthday luncheon for party of 6 on a very rainy weekday. The service was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. We had appetizers, entrees, and several desserts. We made the meal family style and the staff was very accommodating bringing extra plates and silverware. The food was excellent. The Baby back ribs were a standout among the entrees as well as the Cobb Salad. All the appetizer and desserts were delicious. Although, it is Xmas season, not a standout Xmas ambiance, however it still lovely California, airy feel. We’ve loved Summer House since their opening several years ago, they have been consistent with high quality food and well trained staff. Always solid choice in Pike & Rose neighborhood.

    Impeccable service. Welcoming staff and atmosphere. Brilliant sauces. The house-made bread is wonderful, as is the baked squash dish. Desserts are divine (the custard and ice cream -wow!). Portions might be a tad bigger, but were delicious (lamb skewer and baked cod). I wish I didn't have to speak without raising my voice (perhaps a bit of sound abatement would help?). All in all, a lovely dining experience.

    Great food. Great service. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Was kind of surprised how empty it was inside. More people should go! It was very good.
