In the 1950s, The Speckled Trout was a place to stop and fill up your gas tank. Now, you can fill up on fresh mountain trout, soup beans, and hoecakes and wash it down with local farm beer or fresh rosé. The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. Reid’s Cafe is located in beautiful Sugar Mountain, NC. We love the intentional, the specific, and the well-cared-for. We work closely with our local farms and purveyors to curate fresh, seasonal menus that feature regionally sourced meats, a rotation of fresh oysters and select seafood. All of our breads, pastas, and pastries are prepared in-house daily. Our Bar offers local beers, seasonal craft cocktails, and a well chosen wine selection.     Truly my favorite restaurant in the Boone/Blowing Rock area! Love the seasonal menu, the incredible service and fantastic atmosphere of the Gamekeeper. Everyone from valet to hostess to server to chef to management is consistently kind,professional and care that you have a great experience. Highly recommend! (The turkey pot pie was delicious!!)

    Outstanding!! We a great meal. Everything was presented well and tasted great. Our server CC was great and had a sense of humor. As mentioned it was all great but, my dish the wild boar Osso Bucco was perfect.

    Located in a beautiful location, i took the pork shank and it was a little under seasoned for my taste but my husbands fish was delicious.Dessert and drinks were great. Staff is very attentive and nice. Cant wait to go back!

    Another great meal for four in our group. Payton was a great waitress and Kristi was very pleasant when we arrived taking us to our table by the fireplace which we love. Krista seems to have a very organized staff all working very well together. Chicken parm and seafood ala vodka were great dishes and I had a great margarita. Our experience is always wonderful and this one of our favorite restaurants.
