From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. Top notch food and service. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the side dishes to the main courses. Cooked to perfection and simply delicious. We will definitely be back when they re open in April.

We all chose something from the daily specials; shrimp puttanesca and duck confit. We were each delighted with our meal. It was a night out with friends to celebrate the season and we did not feel rushed. Always a favorite dining experience.
