Between the central locale afforded by its gracious home in the landmark Lord Elgin Hotel, a warm and yet contemporary ambience, a locally sourced menu and a casual-to-sophisticated stocked cellar, Forty-One has become one of Ottawa’s top new restaurants.Named Forty-One in recognition of the year, 1941, that the Lord Elgin was built, the restaurant features a modern environment and classic menu that is a perfect match for connecting with new and familiar faces. Guests are able to relax in the inviting lounge with flat screen TVs and large windows overlooking Elgin Street or enjoy an intimate dinner or a group get together in the dining area.     This was my first time visiting for brunch, though I’ve been here before for Happy Hour. My friend ordered the omelet, and I had the breakfast poutine paired with grapefruit mimosas—everything was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was lively, though initially a bit too noisy for our liking. Once the two nearby tables cleared out, it became much more enjoyable. Service was a little slow; our waitress didn’t check in often, so we found ourselves trying to flag her down a few times. Despite the minor hiccups, we had a great time. I definitely recommend this spot for brunch or Happy Hour and will be coming back!

    The food was very good and very affordable for the quality. The service was superb and the ambiance was great. The person assisting to our table was attentive to her customers and took time to ensure our experience was positive. We had also limited time while attending to a show at the NAC and she ensured that our food was served on time for us to make our way to the NAC. Would definitely recommend reservations on weekends as it tends to be quite busy.

    We loved our High Tea at Zoey’s. The atmosphere, the food and the service were top notch. Shout out to the excellent Garrick who made the whole experience even better. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and were treated to a special treat on the house - unexpected and lovely.
