A nomadic group of shepherds who created and nurtured the roots of Hellenic cooking as we know it. Straying from the tried-and-true island cuisine, we're rediscovering Greek fare sourced from rural mountains, lakes and villages of Central and Northern Greece.Bar Vlaha captures the true soul of Greek cooking with rustic and nomadic traditions using charcoal and open fire gastra techniques. Locally sourced, regional and seasonal ingredients are combined with the warmth of old-world hospitality to bring the roots of Greek culture to Brookline.

Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location.     Excellent friendly service bu our server (Lexus — her actual name, not just a car brand). The fish (trout and 2 different forms of salmon) in our party members’ orders was done to perfection and the sides were equally excellent. The beet salad and salmon tartare starters were wonderful. More noisy than usual because of large, festive holiday season groups having a great time even on a Wednesday night.

    Dined with a group of old friends for a much-needed get together and had a fantastic experience! Our server Jorge was excellent and set the tone for a great evening. He was attentive, explained the menu really well and was just a fantastic young man overall! Beautiful and amazingly delicious food, great ambience, and stellar hospitality. This was one of the best dining experiences we have had post-Covid and although many restaurants are still struggling with staffing shortages, etc., you are 100% nailing it! Thanks for a wonderful night!

    10/10 for the staff at Mida. We had a reservation and our table was running behind by a bit so the team went above and beyond to upgrade our experience. We were so impressed and grateful! As regulars, the food and ambiance is always exceptional. Highly recommend!

    This was an overall great experience. Service and food were great and the seating comfortable. When we arrived we were struck by the very high noise level which sometimes makes it hard for a conversation. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday evening. All the staff was very friendly, cheerful and efficient. Thank you!
