The Barncastle Hotel and Restaurant serves Alsatian-inspired cuisine using local and seasonal ingredients. Chef Owen Royce-Nagel and his wife, both Sommelier- and Cicerone-certified, Lizzie Szczepaniak, have been crafting their concept and menu over the last two decades all across the world. Dishes are intended to be shared and bread (from Tinder Hearth!) is meant to be broken in their cozy dining room and pub. The beverage program features a natural and biodynamic wine list, classic cocktails, and craft Maine beer. Located in the heart of the Blue Hill Peninsula, in between Camden and Acadia National Park, it is the perfect place to gather with friends and family.

Havana has been committed to serving local and organic meats, produce and seafood since it opened 25 years ago. All of our meats are “naturally raised” meaning no steroids, antibiotics or hormones and “humanely raised” meaning room to roam, proper shelter and gentle handling. We make every effort to buy only sustainably harvested seafood, primarily from the Gulf of Maine.     This was an easy decision where to celebrate my wife’s ‘big’ birthday, at one of her top three favorite restaurants in Maine. And they never blinked, even after I had to tweak our reservations twice! We ended up with five for dinner and Jenn made this huge table in a corner work. We enjoyed their steak, roast chicken, ribs, my scallops and mussels in grits, and the special char for my wife. Everybody was very happy, well fed, and enjoyed the evening. This is a great restaurant and I’m already planning when we can get back, just the two of us. Thank you, Franny’s.

    We had a wonderful experience dining at front and main! Our server was Reana, was very helpful as was the food runner Martina. They gave us great recommendations! The trout was excellent, and the salmon was amazing! We will be back to taste the ribeye next! Highly recommend front and main as your next eat!

    Lovely, quaint dinning with great food and great service. I love how small the dinning area was; that kept the noise level to a minimum—old world style dinning.
