For centuries, a taverna has been a neighborhood gathering place where friends can meet to eat, drink and enjoy life. Taverna co-founders Thanasis Pashalidis and Hakan Bala were raised with a shared ethical compass, which the Greeks call "philotimo" or "love of honor". Family and friends are their ingredients of life, and they believe that nutrition, happiness and health are all directly correlated. Inspired by the best pizza of New York City and Naples, Italy. In 2005, Annie and Craig Stoll annexed the space next door to their James Beard Award winning Delfina restaurant fulfilling a long time dream of bringing Neapolitan-inspired pizzas to San Francisco. The 600 square foot space was an instant neighborhood hotspot, and Pizzeria Delfina became the ""darling of the San Francisco food scene"" opening a second location in 2008 to popular demand. In 2014, Annie and Craig expanded into the Peninsula with Pizzeria Delfina in Palo Alto.     Four of us had a wonderful pre holiday lunch and we are all extremely satisfied customers for close to 20 years. The food was amazing, we began with fried calamari and the cauliflower soup. We shared the branzino (deboned ) sole fish, lamb chops and the chicken souvlaki. For dessert two of us enjoyed Judy's ice cream sundae and an order of galaktourrko and the chocolate cake. Delicious.. Our server Pryush was beyond outstanding, very helpful and extremely pleasant.

    We couldn't have asked for anything more. The food was amazing but the attention paid to accommodating the various dietary needs from eggplant allergies to seafood orders we forgot to place in time. All without making us uncomfortable at all. Thank you for all you did to make it so special. Special shout-out to Bonnie:)

    Beautifully decorated for holiday, good service. Appetizers were good - elote and fundido great - guac a bit too limey though. Main dishes were very mediocre - Had seafood crepes - VERY fishy, enchiladas mole - OK, shrimp quesadillas - more like simple shrimp tacos and carne asada - way overpriced for amount of meat served - taste was fine. Nothing was like, man, this is good (or great). Too expensive for that not to happen on at least one entree.
