Built in 1591, the Tolbooth Tavern in Edinburgh was formerly part of the original Canongate Tolbooth. This medieval building was used to divide the Royal Burgh of Edinburgh and Canongate.     Well done to Emma and the other at The Burrow for creating a beautiful, intimate and exclusive feeling cocktail and whisky drinking experience. The drinks were well designed, and the service exceptional. Would definitely visit again.

    We were celebrating my mam’s birthday and it was the perfect place . Friendly team, amazing, delicious food. Everything was just perfect. Definitely would recommend going here. Can’t wait to visit this place again.

    My friend and I ate here to celebrate her 60th birthday. Everything was wonderful. She said the souffle was like eating "cheese air" -- just lovely. My seabass was fresh and perfectly prepared. The wine was yummy; the dessert decadently delicious. The service was great -- solicitous and friendly, but not intrusive.

    Not enough superlatives- I was dubious when the ceviche came out last but it was a stroke of genius by the chef - a wonderful palate cleanser to end the small plate selection perfectly - cannot recommend enough - would definitely return!
