Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. All of this quality comes with friendly hospitality in warm and energetic rooms. Open for breakfast, happy hour, dinner and late-night!

With a total of six locations across Atlantic Canada, Gahan House has become an East Coast staple dedicated to creating memorable experiences. We get our name from John Gahan, a prominent merchant and importer of wines, teas, and groceries on Prince Edward Island in the 19th century. His former place of residence is now the location of the original Gahan House in Charlottetown, P.E. To share our award-winning ales with more of Atlantic Canada, we opened our doors and our taps in Halifax, N.S., Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton, N.B., and St. John’s, N.L.We began as a brewpub, and we stay true to our beginnings by having a brew system in-house, ensuring that the beer we serve is as fresh as possible.     First time dining at the Five Fishermen in Halifax. We are visiting from Saskatchewan and had always wanted to spend an evening there. Our experience exceeded our expectations. The ambience was amazing. Kristen - our waitress - was wonderful. We had 2 Celiacs (must eat gluten free) at our table and she really went above and beyond to guide us through the menu and ensure that our meals were prepared safely. Most items were gluten free. We shared 2 appetizers between the 4 of us. For our main meals - and because they were out of fresh lobsters - she had the chef create a lovely gluten free lobster and scallop risotto for two of us - which wasn't on the menu...but was fantastic. The men had steak and a burger. I had a glass of wine and the men had 2 draft beer each. For $249.99 plus tip, that was a great experience and more than worth the cost. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Highly, highly recommend. Will return the next time I'm in town. Cheers from Saskatchewan!!
