The long established tradition of Afternoon Tea has been wonderfully preserved at Ashford Castle since 1868 - you’ll notice the original silver tea set displayed in the Connaught Room, which was presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1896. With spectacular views from the comfort of the castle’s elegant interior, take your time to savour every delicious moment. We arrived later and there was no problem, we’re seated beside window with fantastic view of the city, staff were excellent, food was delicious and desert came with a chocolate congrats on desert plate which was a lovely touch! Highly recommend

My wife and I enjoyed an absolute incredibly well cooked and presented dishes my meal started with the chicken lier pate o e of my go to starters and it was exceptional my wife who doesn't eat pate had a taste and I nearly had to defend it for my life lol.the main course was a wild mushroom and chicken penne in a cream parmesan sauce ,not a lover of parmesan which I informed the server of and was relayed to chef which h resulted in a culinary delight and my wife had stirred vegetables with noodles which she said was one of her best meals ever ,and as I'm chef I was jealous of the praise staff where ex Ellen will go again if I return to westport

Beautiful Gastro Bar right in the city centre but without the hustle and bustle. Very spacious and relaxing so you can enjoy your lunch without being bothered by other tables around you. Love the decor. Very reasonably priced lunch menu with a good selection to choose from. Food was fresh and tasty and served in a timely manner. Great service
