Owners Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon opened Bistrot Du Coin's doors in 2000 for patrons to converse and have fun while enjoying their meals.     We had family visiting DC from Australia. They suggested Italian. I just picked this restaurant based on cost, as we were a party of 6. Our guests arrived before us and had appetizers. With that & one bottle of wine, a couple of beers & main course, our bill came to $245. The restaurant is very open. It was loud and difficult to hear the person sitting across from you. The food was delicious and our guests raved about it. On a weekend night (Fri-Sat), a reservation is a must. I'd definitely go back. Added bonus was the parking garage (altho outrageous price $21) is right next door on R Street.

    We ate on the early side so it was quiet. Friendly not stuffy. The place filled up by the time we finished our meal. We took our time and never felt rushed. Our waiter was attentive but not annoyingly so. We ordered a nice bottle of Chianti excellent price. Appetizer was a marvelous tartare. Dinner we had fresh pasta perfectly prepared and proportioned. Highly recommend.

    In town for a conference, sat at the bar with my colleague and had a great evening! Great service, very solid Italian wine list, fresh calamari, great chicken Parmesan and carbonara pasta dishes. Nice ambience as well.
