Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community.     Best steak I’ve had in a very long time. It was superb! I have dined at all of the high-end steak houses and Desi Vega’s beat them all! My filet was tender, cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We paired our steaks with the potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. The drinks were well made and the service was top notch. We will be back!

    Enjoyed my meal everything was delicious. Service was great. Was disappointed with no complementary birthday dessert waitress saw my id carded me for my drink. Just something that would have been extra nice. But overall loved it we will be back

    This restaurant actually deserves its strong reputation for lunch or dinner on the North Shore… definitely a preferred choice for a business or personal outing. You’ll be surprised and very pleased with the range of offerings in their Menu, something for everyone. You’ll go for the award winning food… but you’ll come back for the outstanding service - an experience worthy of the best in Southern Traditions.

    The men’s room lacks handicap bars around the toilet! I was surprised, thinking that this is required by law. If not, it is a necessity for handicapped guests.
