Since Rafael Palomino—Sonora’s Executive Chef and Proprietor—opened the doors to this, his flagship Latin-fusion restaurant, he has received accolades from a broad customer base, including an “Excellent” from the New York Times. This creative, Colombian-born (Queens-raised) chef and author of five cookbooks, has since opened 8 more restaurants that span three states (New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania).     The food is uniquely prepared and does not disappoint. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. They often guide me through the selection process and are thoughtful about allergies and food preferences. I have dined there dozens of times alone, on dates, or with a large group of friends, and everyone has enjoyed both the meals and service. If you like sushi and are willing to try something different book a reservation at the table or bar. I am sure you will like it.

    Has the lunch menu which is great value: mushroom veloute and branzino a la plancha. The dining room was full at lunchtime on a weekday which was surprising. Service was nevethless efficient and dishes were served promptly and cooked to perfection. Never a surprise at L"Escale.
