Our talented crew are dedicated to feeding the hungry people of Davis and the surrounding communities, recently receiving a Zagat Rating for food of 27, and voted Best Restaurant in Davis by the readers of Sacramento Magazine. We have also been called by Sunset Magazine has also called us quintessential Davis dining experience. Our seasonal menu has something new weekly to freshen the compact yet diversified selections, specializing in sustainable fresh fish, natural meats, local seasonal produce and house made desserts. Our reasonably priced, exclusively California wine list has something for every palate. MONDAVI VISITORS: We are just five short minutes away. Be sure to check early in the week for reservations. For an 8:00PM Curtain 6:00PM is the latest suggested comfortable reservation time We do not cater.

Please be advised. Friday and Saturday's dinner service is Exclusive Omakase experience only. Omakase chef tasting menu is $175 Per Person (price does NOT include beverage and gratuity). Each section will take 120 minutes. (4:30pm to 6:30, 7:30 to 9:30)For all parties, 100% of cost per person + tax will be charged at the time of booking. Cancellations made within 48 hours prior to the reservation date will not be refunded. Cancellations made before the 72-hour time period will be refunded 50% of total cost per person + tax.Reduction in the number of guests in the party are subject to cancellation charge. Please be on time to enjoy all the courses. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.Omakase means a meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef.Chef will create some courses with seasonal, and best available ingredients.Please call Hikari (530) 564-4356 to request Tuesday to Thursday night dinner.     The place is nice and quiet, very small and cozy. The food was really good and I was happy with every dish on the Valentines Day special. It was very pricey and they only serve beer and wine. I will go back for the food though.

    Dinner before a Mondavi Center event. Staff are super nice-professional-accommodating. The food is superb. We had crab cakes-moist, deliciously flavorful; Asian Pear salad; lamb chops (juicy, tender, seasoned to perfection, duck, salmon and scallops. We were a party of 4. We were treated extremely well!

    I am running out of superlatives when describing the Omakase experience at Hikari. As far as I am concerned it is the only high-end dining place in Davis worthy of the name. On my last visit I was accompanied by a couple of friends who enjoyed it to the utmost. Although they are Japanese food lovers this was a new and marvelous experience for them. If you want to treat somebody to a great dining experience I suggest you take them to Hikari.
