General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream.     This place is a gem. The best service we had in Toronto, ever. Atmosphere is amazing. Food was very good. We did have a hiccup with one of the plates but it was taken care of promptly. Will be going back. Thank you to the team at this restaurant for making it so memorable!

    The reason I chose Aera because I heard this restaurant offers an unbeatable view of the CN Tower. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was exceptional—attentive and friendly.     Our recent visit on Christmas Eve, to celebrate a special celebration, was nothing short of extraordinary. We extend our gratitude to every individual who contributed to the impeccable service that evening. From the thoughtful seating arrangement overlooking a vibrant display of fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and fruits to the attentive service that paired our meal with a delightful bottle of Petit Chablis Blanc, every detail was expertly curated. The evening culminated in a celebratory dessert of Greek yogurt, elegantly garnished with pomegranate seeds and mint—a perfect ending to a remarkable experience. Our meal began with house-made bread and olive oil, complemented by a refreshing tomato salad as an appetizer. For the main course, we enjoyed expertly grilled Balada fish accompanied by steamed broccoli and succulent lamb chops. The server’s meticulous walkthrough of the fresh seafood selection, artfully presented on ice, added an engaging touch, highlighting the restaurant’s dedication to authentic Greek cuisine. This establishment comes highly recommended, and we eagerly anticipate returning with friends in the near future.
