Love and Salt is a story that begins with Cafe Pierre, a restaurant birthed by Guy Gabriele in 1977 to bring a taste of France to Los Angeles’ South Bay. While Cafe Pierre was a beloved part of the community for nearly 37 years, in 2014, Guy and his daughter Sylvie Gabriele, now the owner of Love and Salt, closed the restaurant to bring new life to the iconic space.Love and Salt is a philosophy: that food needs only two ingredients to be great. It’s a sensibility that informs the feeling in the restaurant and the dishes on the menu — Italian-inspired with Southern California soul.     We celebrated my mom’s birthday here at North, and had such a blast. We keep coming back because the food is fresh, delicious, and you get the most bang for your buck. We ordered the Lasagna Bianca Al Forno, Squid Ink Tonnarelli & Tuscan Half Chicken. There was plenty to share, with leftovers. Our server was nothing short of lovely - she took care of us with a smile on her face. We sat on the patio with our pup - it had started raining, so the patio area was covered and the heaters were on. Such a warm and toasty ambience. The dining room is so gorgeous, but got a little too loud - there was an echo that made conversation a little hard (even from the patio), but we all loved people watching. Thank you, North Italia! We’ll keep coming back for consistent, amazing, authentic Italian food. We have a blast with y’all.

    A must try if you're in manhattan beach! The food was great, but the service was incredible. Our server Jason Balasbas was so attentive and courteous. His recommendations made all the difference in making dinner exceptional. I highly recommend.

    Our server - Sebastian! Amazing! Always friendly and gives great advice. Ambience - Dimly lit and a great vibe. Not too boujie and always feel welcomed. Food - each dish is its own star. Cheesy bacon bread is fantastic. Their pretzel appetizer is awesome. Brussel sprouts are super good. Charcuterie board is on point. Their skirt steak is ridiculously good. MBP is my favorite spot in Manhattan Beach!
