Owners Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon opened Bistrot Du Coin's doors in 2000 for patrons to converse and have fun while enjoying their meals.     This was a nice quiet atmosphere for a lunch with friends. I’ve had many pleasant experiences at La Tomate and this was no exception. One suggestion is to give diners more time to review the menu before ordering. Overall, though, a very nice meal and surroundings. I need to remember that this oasis is right in my neighborhood and I should go more often.

    We had family visiting DC from Australia. They suggested Italian. I just picked this restaurant based on cost, as we were a party of 6. Our guests arrived before us and had appetizers. With that & one bottle of wine, a couple of beers & main course, our bill came to $245. The restaurant is very open. It was loud and difficult to hear the person sitting across from you. The food was delicious and our guests raved about it. On a weekend night (Fri-Sat), a reservation is a must. I'd definitely go back. Added bonus was the parking garage (altho outrageous price $21) is right next door on R Street.

    In town for a conference, sat at the bar with my colleague and had a great evening! Great service, very solid Italian wine list, fresh calamari, great chicken Parmesan and carbonara pasta dishes. Nice ambience as well.
