Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare, including raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like steak tartare, baked rigatoni, steak frites, and butterscotch bread pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Octopus was brilliant. Never had such soft and tender octopus before. This was the WOW. All the rest was also very delicious. Food came quickly. Service was very good.

Taberna has been up and down over the years but whatever was causing the inconsistencies is no longer present.. The food is great, the service attentive and helpful, and Sangria is back (though not by the carafe sadly). It has none of the date night craziness that Barcelona has, the ambience is great. Couldn't one happier!

I did not love the tagliatelle - too rich and creamy. But the pasta is homemade so that’s a plus!
