Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. Today, we hope you will enjoy your own celebration as you dine at Kokkari Estiatorio on food “fit for the Gods” prepared with an Aegean palate and the style of innovative California fare.

An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware.     I love a restaurant that has front of house service with such aggressive attention to detail. My napkin dropped on the floor it was immediately picked up and changed out. Cutlery is brought to your table warm. My water glass never was more than half way empty before it was filled. Exceptional service. Also the food was phenomenal.

    So excited to try this place out. They opened about 8 weeks ago. We love French food, anything French basically! So glad we were able to snag reservations at the bar. It’s a small place but lots of flavor. Love the little details to the restaurant, great bread and butter, and a projector with holiday movies on the wall. One of the best steak and frites in the city, hands down super tender and crispy hot fries!

    La Mar never disappoints. We went there for a celebration and the food and service was great. The food came out quick too. Highlights for me were the Lomo Soltado, Jumbo Prawns with cilantro rice and the Fried Rice with Wagyu steak. Excellent experience and the dessert Choco Maracuya is the one to get. Skip the chocolate cake and the tres leches.

    Always An amazing experience! Everything on the Menus is dependable and superb. We had an extra person and a miscommunication on our reservation however Val the lead hostess and manager made a huge effort to accommodate us and ensure we could fit our guest. I’ve never seen a manager go through so much effort and be as gracious as Val was and go above and beyond to help us out. Thank you Val.
