Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato.     It was such a wonderful experience with my wife and my 10 year old. We would love do it again. It was outstanding from first moment: talking about valet parking, customer service, food, drinks, atmosphere everything.

    Our dinner at Marcel was the best dinner experience I’ve had in 40+ years. The food was excellent but what took it over the top was how hospitable the staff was. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. It was like a family member who wanted to share their food with you. We weren’t rushed and enjoyed just sitting and chatting with ourselves and the staff. They treated everyone like a VIP. I encourage everyone to try Marcel and I’ll gladly recommend it and come back.

    Ambiance was good and our waitress was also very good. However the food didn't meet expectations. The warm crab dip was very good. However I ordered a NY Strip steak and it was par for a steak. Tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all and the broccoli has a burnt taste to it.

    If I could give this place 5 more stars I would! I have to brag on how great this experience was! My husband and I ate here for lunch after we just got married, and we were not expecting such impeccable service from this restaurant. Our waitress greeted us by our names the entire meal, was very knowledgeable of the menu and history of the restaurant/hotel, and gave outstanding service! The food was delicious all around, champagne choice was perfect, and the manager/staff were beyond gracious to us. This meant so much to us on our big day, especially as an LGBTQ couple. Would highly recommend this establishment to any and everyone from now on. We will definitely be back!

    Overall was good food! The sushi tasted really fresh! Great tuna, great rice had the eel roll. My only opportunity I can see for this restaurant personally is that the booths were not very comfortable for a lower back. Simple change could be to request a chair instead. sushi
