Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare, including raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like steak tartare, baked rigatoni, steak frites, and butterscotch bread pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Pammy’s is a New American restaurant inspired by the feel of an Italian neighborhood trattoria. Perched between Cambridge’s Central and Harvard Squares, Pammy’s is a cozy yet sophisticated neighborhood destination. For husband and wife team Chris and Pam Willis (who live right up the street), Pammy’s is an extension of their living room. They’ve brought together their love of great food, easy hospitality and chic vibes to create a lively space that is welcoming to all looking for a memorable meal. With dishes that lean heavily on Italian flavors but are not restricted by any rules of the cuisine, the food is unpretentious and delicious. A fireplace wrapped in white ceramic, an oversized salvaged communal table designed for side-by-side dining and rich leather banquets are just some of the design elements that make up Pammy’s charm.We're currently serving a Prix Fixe menu for all reservations. A la carte dining is available for walk-in guests at our bar and in our lounge.

The Merchant is a big space that served for more than a century as a leather store. We've brought in high-top tables near the windows ... a 40-foot bar on one side of the room … and more formal dining spots on the opposite side. We have a private dining room in back, and another private dining room downstairs. For our menu, we make almost all of our fare from scratch. Executive chef Ignacio Lopez previously worked at both Beat Hotel in Cambridge and Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington. Chef Lopez cures and smokes all the meat in house. Our burger is top-notch, as are other dishes like house-made Gnochhi, Organic Chicken Milanaise and Steak Frites. The Merchant serves salads, sandwiches ($15-$21), and more for the lunch rush. And for dinner, we are a full-service brasserie (with most entrees ranging from $25-$30). The bar has 30+ rotating beers on tap, many of them locally brewed, plus a full selection of craft cocktails to serve our patrons, including the after-work crowd.

    My wife and I have been going to Abe & Louie’s on or near Valentine’s Day for many years. It is one of the last old school steak restaurants in Boston. Great service as always and our waiter, Chris was outstanding. We shared a beet and goat cheese salad - perfect. I had the 16 oz NY strip steak. OMG - it was fabulous. Home fries on the side are always a must. My wife had chicken with some crisp, chunks of potatoes. I admit to stealing a few pieces from her plate. Delicious key lime pie for desert. If you want a really good steak and nice service - go to Abe & Louie’s!

    I visited on Valentine’s Day and loved the cozy ambiance with beautiful plant decorations. I ordered the 3 Valentine’s specials: the beet gnocchi, beet burrata, and cod dish, along with the cooked oysters. All were delicious though I was a bit disappointed with the beet burrata, as it had a very tiny amount of cubed beets and at first believed they forgot the beets on the dish. For dessert I had the tiramisu which was fantastic!

    My girlfriend and I both work in hospitality and came for an early Valentine's dinner since we have to work for it. Our waiter, Jimmy, was amazing, we ordered all of our food at once and asked Jimmy to pace it out using his judgement. We also asked for recommendations on a fruity/dry Wine pairing, which he did wonderfully and paired with multiple items we ordered. Everything was delicious and the oyster mushrooms were spectacular. To end our meal they brought us over a delicious digestivo and even got us a reservation downstairs at Hecate following our dinner. Amazing experiences thank you!
