We offer an extensive menu featuring Cape Cod Coastal Cuisine that celebrates local seafood and creative dishes by our Chef Owner Ben Porter! From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. From the bonds staff made during countless summer seasons, to the engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings, Pates has been a backdrop for exceptional moments and people. Our steaks are freshly-cut every day.The Chatham Cut does NOT use pre-packaged previously cut pre-weighed plastic-wrapped meat, or cook our steaks using the "Sous Vide," method as many other non-specialist restaurants do.     The Cut is always consistently good. The restaurant has evolved from a pure steak house to something that offers something for everyone. The specials always include a beautiful fish option . The service is friendly and the environment allows for a quiet discussion at the table but with a convivial vibe stemming from the open bar area . A nice option in Chatham for a quality meal in a nice environment.

    Once again Pates was a great experience - from the staff (Shannan & Marin) to the amazing food - Korean fried broccoli, seafood pan roast and the salmon - cooked to perfection with the perfect flavors. Great wine list to accompany whatever items you select. Highly recommend the brownie sundae to top off your dining experience!

    We all chose something from the daily specials; shrimp puttanesca and duck confit. We were each delighted with our meal. It was a night out with friends to celebrate the season and we did not feel rushed. Always a favorite dining experience.
