Frascati is a Mediterranean style bistro, located in one of San Francisco’s most desirable neighborhoods – Russian Hill. Nisei presents a contemporary approach to Japanese American cuisine by combining deep Japanese flavors, refined cooking technique, and Northern California's finest ingredients. The restaurant is a personal reflection of Chef David Yoshimura's unique experience as a Michelin starred chef and second generation Japanese American, or Nisei. Nisei can accommodate most severe allergies with advance notice, however due to the nature of the tasting menu format, we can not meet all dietary restrictions or aversions. In order to maintain the spirit of our cuisine, the following items can not be removed: Salt, sugar, soy sauce, and egg cooked into items.All Experience prices below reflect a 20% Service Fee and 8.63% SF Sales Tax applied to the base price of each experience. This Service Fee goes towards paying our employees a livable wage as well as providing health insurance.

    Ambience was very cool as frascati is in an old historical house with an upstairs for more dining. The food was okay, all cooked and seasoned well but no memorable plates. The service seemed a bit pretentious and impatient and our waiter turned away to service other tables while we were requesting things from him or asking questions. Overall vibes were good but probably wouldn’t go again as there were tons of other restaurants in the area and this one didn’t stand out.

    We always try to eat at Gary Danko when we are in town (from Hawaii) for special holidays in this case Christmas Eve. So grateful they were open and able to accommodate us. This is always our go to place because our daughter in law is gluten intolerant and they always graciously accommodate her (even to the point of having gluten free bread). Many restaurants will not accommodate because of possible cross contamination, but Gary Danko always welcomes us. We love the selections of courses and look forward to the muffin they give for breakfast the following morning. The only criticism I have is that there is no valet parking - so we take taxi/uber weather can be severe. You have to try this and you will keep coming back!

    My favorite Italian restaurant in SF. Always delicious, gracious service, reasonable prices, and love, love the charming European ambiance- feels like you are transported straight to Italy.
