Welcome to Sugar Boat - a relaxed & informal neighbourhood bistro in the heart of the town on Colquhoun Square, a stones throw from the sea front. We are open daily from 7.30am (8.30am on Saturday & 9am on Sunday's) through until late. We serve everything from breakfast with a cracking fry up or eggs benedict with or avocado & poached eggs on toast. For lunch & dinner we offer a la carte menus. We also have tea and coffee facilities in the room with delicious Scottish biscuits included.Breakfast is included in our room rates and we also have a restaurant and bar onsite with a full food and drinks menu and afternoon tea is also available.Well behaved dogs are welcome in our beer garden.

Has the Spaghetti Carbonara like we always do and there was chilli Flakes through the pasta. Why on earth would you do that. I ate mine, the wife wasted hers it really wasn't that good. Expected better. Service was pretty slow considering how quiet the restaraunt was.

As always service and food very good. Just disappointed with cleanliness of both bathrooms, restaurant floor and seats. Having visited the sugar boat on many occasions I was very surprised by lack of cleanliness as this never been en issue before!

This is my second visit, the first not so good but probably teething problems.. this time food was amazing from starter to main, staff friendly and attentive would definitely recommend best Indian food I’ve tasted in a long time..

From the moment we arrived, we were made very welcome. The service was exceptionally friendly. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant but then moved outside for drinks because the weather was so good and the views from the beer garden are spectacular! We’ll be back soon!
