Set on Mitchell Hill, a medieval route from the city of Truro to the East, in a quiet, historical quarter, The Rising Sun is the hub of the local community and a destination for visitors to the county. An overwhelming amount of work paled into insignificance against the excitement at what they thought could be created in this out of the way building with a very long and interesting history. A lot of hard labour ensued to create their vision of showcasing the best qualities of a modern pub; seamlessly combining carefully sourced, sophisticated yet familiar food and drink in a welcoming authentic pub environment.     Booking was easy. Arrived and seated. Ordered our food and it arrived piping hot! Staff were busy as a very large party were eating but that didn't stop them from checking in on us. 100% perfect in every way.

    The restaurant had a lovely buzz of happy customers, they were really busy last night but the service was relaxed which was lovely. The scallops and ribeye were amazing. I’ve eaten here three times now and it’s been spot on each time. The waiting staff and bar team are all really friendly, you get the feeling it’s a good place to work! Well done all

    We had an amazing meal and experience. The service was amazing and everyone was so friendly, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back again and again and again.

    We booked a meal here after popping in for a drink one day and we was not disappointed- We had a really lovely evening, the food was so good all homemade, fresh foods. Something for everyone on the menu. The staff all make you feel really welcome. We Will definitely return.

    Everything was incredible. Staff were lovely and very attentive and could have a laugh. It’s very relaxed and there was a lovely anniversary card waiting for us when we arrived which we thought was incredibly thoughtful. The food was amazing from starters to dessert. No faults, we would 100% recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you to all the staff that made our anniversary meal so wonderful.
