The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim: To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space with friendly, unpretentious service. We have pursued that goal ever since and it has earned us many loyal customers. Our menu is probably classed as British with some additional favourites from Italy and around the globe. Staff are excellent. The roast dinner was excellent, the beef just melted in the mouth and the veg and roast potato’s wer wonderful. Definitely coming back. Thanks

The food was outstanding. All meals were delicious and well presented. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have been a few times now and will definitely return. Loved the Christmas decorations too. Very festive

Was going to a show at the lowery stopped here easy to park away from the crowds ,food was excellent, service was quick ,something for everyone’s tastes , very relaxed , good atmosphere will definitely go again
