Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman. We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles. Dine at the most breathtaking oceanfront setting in Kapalua Resort. Peter Merriman Chef/Restauranteur has brought his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine to Maui. A pioneer in the “Farm to Table” concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using only sustainable methods.Reservations are released 60 days prior at 6am HST. This includes all holidays. Although we cannot accommodate parties larger than 8 people or split reservations in our main dining room, we do have other options available. Please email reservations@merrimanshawaii.com for groups larger than 8 people.For a more casual dining experience, join us at The Point, our oceanside dining location offering a casual menu. Mauka Makai is a culinary experience celebrating the farming and fishing culture of ancient Hawai"i. Ancient Hawaiians drew their sustenance-physical and spiritual- from the land and sea around them.     Fabulous as always. The food was delicious. Large dinner salads were shareable so we could save room for dessert which is not to be missed! Service was impeccable—both our table server, beverage refill Wed, table clearers, and a manager check-in. We came after sunset, so didn’t get the view this time which is spectacular. The outdoor lanai area was quieter than the main room and delightful.

    Service was quite good with the exception of food prep time. Server was outstanding. Food was great. Lobster perfectly done. Same with Ahi steak. Everyone was super happy with their meals. Ambiance was beach restaurant normal, with relatively high noise levels. Place was super clean and visually uncluttered. Seating was decently spaced and comfortable. Music from other side of restaurant was muted, muddy, and unidentifiable - and mostly more a part of the background noise than it was contributing to the ambiance. Need a better way to balance that across the whole place. View was of course awesome. Value was ok if you account for usual resort area price inflation.

    I had to talk to the manager Jake due to an issue that we had with the gift cards over at Dukes. He was great. He straightened everything out and we watched him and he’s a very much hands-on manager really helping out his staff in that restaurant. We also had Stephanie as a waitress and she was wonderful. Love this restaurant.
