Inspired by the diversity of Colombo and England, Colombo 16 brings the essence of modern Sri Lanka to Marine Court, the historic Grade II-listed Art Deco building on the shores of St Leonards-On-Sea. ​By day we offer fusion lunch with some traditional Sri Lankan options, by night contemporary curries, short eats and desserts intended for sharing. Our dishes are based on family recipes, modernised with an ingredient-led approach sourcing locally and importing weekly from Sri Lanka.

Lury delivers a unique approach to creative, ingredient-led cooking, drawing on British and Burgher heritage. The Burghers of Sri Lanka developed their own culinary style combining their European ancestry with the ingredients of Sri Lanka. Drawing on Jack’s British, European and Sri Lankan heritage our kitchen serves a unique tasting menu inspired by ingredients, memory and culture. We serve a set menu comprising 10-12 dishes that reflect our ethos and the best produce available on any given day.Our set menu for June will be entirely focused on fish and will not contain any meat. However please note that all other months we do not offer alternative pescatarian or vegetarian menus. As we are a small team, please note we serve only our set menu, we do not offer pescatarian or vegetarian alternatives at this time. Additionally we are unable to cater for most allergies. If you have any queries concerning dietary restrictions please contact us prior to booking.

The Two Sawyers is a 16th Century Inn recently refurbished and under family ownership. We pride ourselves on serving excellent beer and food. We have a large beer garden to the rear of the pub with over 30 tables for our guests to use for both drinking and dining. A character bar with log fires serving guest ales, beers, and wines. The restaurant serves traditional pub food twice both lunch and evening and all day on both Saturday and Sunday.

In sleepy Fairlight, on the edge of the Firehills, The Cove is an independently run freehouse serving locals, wanderers and gastronauts alike. Halfway between Hastings and Rye, The Cove is the perfect stop after a walk across the local beaches and coastal paths of East Sussex. We have a fire for the winter nights, a garden for summer days, and a friendly bar waiting to welcome you. Originally a hotel, the building sat empty for several years until 2022, when the Cove was renovated, restored and reopened with a new lease of life. It has quickly gained a reputation for excellent, elevated pub food with local chef and restauranteur Nick Hales leading the kitchen.In 2023 it was featured on The Times 50 Best Summer Pubs, and given a glowing review by Grace Dent in The Guardian Observer.

The Plough is a country pub, restaurant and rooms just outside Rye, with a beer garden offering picturesque views of the Brede valley.     Our first visit to BAYTE was for dinner last October when we were visiting for the weekend. Our meal was the best food we ate all weekend. This time we took the train down for lunch with pals from Rye, and we were equally impressed. Shorter menu at lunch, nicely spaced tables, good service and talented chefs in the open kitchen - all only a 2 minute walk from St. Leonards' station!

    Absolutely beautifully cooked food - with such thought to the combination of flavours. So good that we went for 3 courses. Haven’t eaten anything so delicious for a long time. Will be back as soon as we can. Excellent service, great selection of drinks and lovely atmosphere. 5 star!

    We had an out of this world meal at Winifred’s, chef Ben is a miracle worker with flavours and creative food combinations; subtle, tasty, ingenious. I don’t want to spoil the pleasure or anticipation of other diners by listing what we ate: suffice it to say that it was all fantastic accompanied by some excellent English wine and great table service.
