In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. We had a wonderful experience on a Monday night. The service was very attentive, and our server was familiar with every menu item. She made the best recommendations for wines to accompany our meals. Dinner here was much more than just out to dinner, it truly was a dining experience! We will definitely be back

We went for brunch. The steak and eggs, churro waffles with chicken, the French toast, and the pineapple coconut drinks are all family faves. We also get the fresh guacamole, street corn, and salsa with warm chips every time. Great food and service (thanks Alejandro!)

Food was delicious. Burrata appetizer was very different and had excellent flavors. Chicken skewers and salmon were also excellent. Drink menu very well done. The Amalfi cocktail was very good. Would go back for sure.
