Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain.     We always enjoy eating at Gallagher’s Grill. This time we had the tuna appetizer and steak with the garlic mashed potatoes. Perfectly prepared…juicy and delicious! Highly recommend the restaurant, but I suggest making a reservation as they book up quickly.

    Gavin was our waiter and he made our dining experience truly enjoyable. We started with the tuna tartar and the arugula beet salad, then we had the crab soup. You should always get the crab soup. I had the sea bass special, it was delicious and my friend had the veal with 3 sauces. We finished dinner with the apple tart. Everything was divine. We will definitely go back again.

    Wonderful service, the Chef sent some small plates over as tasters that were excellent. The service was extraordinary, meals were all perfect! The souffle was amazing, wine list extensive, cocktails unique. It was our Anniversary and the staff made it a very special night. We hope to be back some day when we're visiting south Louisiana.
