It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. The café has over the years become famous for its breakfast and lunch, with American classics like good old-fashioned burgers and a great selection of omelets, along with Scandinavian classics like Danish Meatballs or Norwegian Salmon.     First impression: restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. Will definitely return for dinner to see the chandeliers sparkle, and during the summer to sit outside. Let's just say, I'll be back. 3 of us shared the shrimp appetizer (perfectly cooked & seasoned), and the fries, one had a burger, a gem salad and Lobster Roll. Delicious. Don't skimp on dessert! We shared the chocolate chip cookies and the butterscotch crème brûlée.

    Sushi Ran had incredible sushi. I’ve eaten sushi my entire life and this restaurant goes up there with one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had.

    We are Piatti regulars. After suffering through major attitudinal service for brunch at Farmhouse over the weekend, it was so refreshing to have real, friendly and competent service at Piatti. Everyone is on the same team, smiles and pays attention. Simple principles of hospitality! And it feels warm and genuine. Not imposed. Comfort Italian dinner with friends. Loved the montepulciano by the glass paired with the chicken puttanesca. Warm and fuzzy on a wet rainy night. Keep it up!
