The Hoffman House restaurant, in the scenic Hudson Valley, opened for business in June of 1977. The building is a fine example of Early American Dutch rubble architecture featuring wide planked random width board floors, a fire place in each of the main rooms and many small multi-level rooms.The Hoffman House is located at the corner of the historic Stockade district in Kingston NY, and once served as fortification and a lookout. Today the Hoffman House serves a continental fare, featuring steaks, fresh seafood, pasta specialties and homemade artisan desserts. Our party of 6 enjoyed sharing several appetizers (mussels were wow), salads, mains, and even a couple of desserts and all was delicious! Cocktails and beer list were very nice. Our waiter was top notch in service and personality!

The Phoenician Steakhouse is our go-to spot when we are in the Catskills. The service is consistently friendly and the food reliably delicious. The owner, Mike, can often be seen in the kitchen cooking and overseeing the food preparation. We have our favorite dishes — the beet salad and panko crusted mozzarella, and the steaks, pappardelle bolognese and osso bucco ravioli. And of course the tiramisu. But any new thing we try such as last night’s squash soup and clam chowder, are also winners. In the summer we love sitting on the back patio.
