The Folk’s Folly story began in 1977 with unconventional origins, as the best stories often do.Native son Humphrey Folk, Jr. was a prominent and shrewd developer, whose hard work carried him all over the country, cultivating his sincere appreciation of food and fine wine.Undaunted by a complete lack of restaurant or culinary experience, he decided to convert a quaint and intimate house into a small eatery. Due to Covid regulations and our assurance of social distancing, we have decided to incorporate, The Beauty Shop, our sister music club, Bar DKDC, our newest Back Dō Oasis Patio behind the Beauty Shop and our patio out front of the Beauty Shop. In addition to the two outdoor igloos, we also now have multiple greenhouses outside to assist in social distancing and outdoor eating even during cold or rainy weather.     It is our favorite restaurant in Memphis. It is consistently good. On the weekends their is a live performer who is excellent. Never thought it could get better, but it has. They changed their menu. We tried 2 of their items and they are both delicious! Still our favorite restaurant!!

    Finally got here after years of planning. Delicious food. Nice dining experience. My wife had the cornbread dusted redfish and I had the half chicken. The portions were great and we got our money’s worth. Our server (didn’t get his name), Afro American gentleman, was on point. The blueberry bread pudding was worth the $10. Might be the best we ever had.

    Chef Wilson was able to accommodate my gluten free diet, and my friend's diet, both gluten and dairy. He made an excellent gluten free shrimp carbonera for me and also a delicious impromptu chocolate parfait dessert for my friend. Also, the live musical performance of Pam and Terry was enormously entertaining. They are true entertainers. We had a great meal and a great evening!

    Great experience. Very cozy vibe, reasonable price, excellent service, and even better food. Everyone from the owner to the servers made us feel very welcomed and took their time explain the menu. I’ll definitely be returning. 10/10.
