The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. The Beacon is located in the heart of Boone, NC adjacent to the iconic Water Wheel. Just as we value beautiful ingredients in our catering, The Beacon adheres to a similar message. In the kitchen, we value the fashion from scratch details as small as the aiolis and dressings we use, to the housemade desserts and pastries, cured and smoked meats, and naturally fermented pickles. In the 1950s, The Speckled Trout was a place to stop and fill up your gas tank. Nestled in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains is a vineyard reminiscent of a French Hillside Vineyard. Located on the historic Brewer Mill site, overlooking the Roaring River is the Chez Josephine Restaurant. Reid’s Cafe is located in beautiful Sugar Mountain, NC. We love the intentional, the specific, and the well-cared-for. We work closely with our local farms and purveyors to curate fresh, seasonal menus that feature regionally sourced meats, a rotation of fresh oysters and select seafood.     Truly my favorite restaurant in the Boone/Blowing Rock area! Love the seasonal menu, the incredible service and fantastic atmosphere of the Gamekeeper. Everyone from valet to hostess to server to chef to management is consistently kind,professional and care that you have a great experience. Highly recommend! (The turkey pot pie was delicious!!)

    Outstanding!! We a great meal. Everything was presented well and tasted great. Our server CC was great and had a sense of humor. As mentioned it was all great but, my dish the wild boar Osso Bucco was perfect.

    Another great meal for four in our group. Payton was a great waitress and Kristi was very pleasant when we arrived taking us to our table by the fireplace which we love. Krista seems to have a very organized staff all working very well together. Chicken parm and seafood ala vodka were great dishes and I had a great margarita. Our experience is always wonderful and this one of our favorite restaurants.

    The kitchen was a bit slow tonight, but service from Beck was attentive and the food was great as usual. The French Onion Soup gets a gold star. It's never salty, always delicious with oohy gooey cheese. My partner loved the fish tacos.
