Mamakas Taverna is an elegant 85-seat Greek taverna on Ossington Ave. Owner Thanos Tripi brings a fresh, authentic approach to Aegean food, offering classical Greek dishes against a contemporary canvas.     The cocktails were quirky and delicious. Food was unique and everything had a special twist. Good for sharing as you want to try everything. Cat our server was fabulous. She explained the whole menu to us (which was helpful). She got as excited as we were when we chose our various cocktails. Thanks for a great evening!!!

    Probably one of the best tables available in the country! The prime rib was cooked and seasoned to perfection and I know prime rib!!! Plus the fit for a king -sized Yorkshire pudding was the absolute perfect compliment to the meal. I also had the maple tart for dessert which was served sauced with maple syrup made from the sap of a one hundred year old tree and topped with a hearty wedge of a soft brie-like cheese. We stated with a lobster spaghetti in a delicious cream sauce which sounds heavy but was not. We also were treated to tender,smoked slices of pork belly (they called it bacon) also in a sweet sauce along with a fresh-from- the- farm bowl of Gem lettuce with a green olive dressing which, in itself, was delectable.The service was highly professional and welcoming. What a fabulous addition to the Toronto culinary scene! Can’t wait to go back!

    What a great restaurant! We were a group of 12, served by Ivan. There was really friendly service and awesome food; two in the group had to leave early, so they made sure their food was out of the kitchen first. All the dishes were tasty and the cocktails good too.
