An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni.     Such a lovely night and dining experience all the way around. Food and drinks were absolutely exceptional. Service - wonderful: attentive but not intrusive. Ambiance…lovely, but just a bit chilly by the front door. Looking forward to returning soon.

    This is one legendary restaurant that lives up to its legend. The food is out of this world. The service is brilliant. The room with a view is spectacular and the room in the lounge is cozy. This is a go-to place for special occasions. Thank you to Jackie, Jeannie and the whole staff who greeted us and our special guest so warmly.

    The food, as always, was wonderful. My o Lu complaint is the timing of the food coming out of the kitchen. Everything came at the same time! We ordered pita and spreads. We thought those would come first and we could enjoy them with our first glass of wine. As it was - everything arrived together. Not ideal. We ordered espresso with our dessert. It came and then we waited and waited for dessert. Espresso was cold by the time it came out. They could work on their timing!
