We’re in Newark briefly at an airport Hampton awaiting a flight today, having flown up yesterday to mitigate the likelihood of missing a connection. It’s a bleak area of grim row houses in the shadow of hulking shipyards, but I found us an orchid of a restaurant poking out of the muck. We supped on fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta, fresh bread with garlicky olive oil, and halibut oreganato over sumptuous couscous. Then coffee and homemade tiramisu. If you ever find yourself in a layover at EWR, I recommend Del Porto on Elizabeth Avenue in Elizabethport. It is exceptional!

Everything was fine. The piano is always welcome but he wasn’t playing any songs, he did play Happy Birthday which was fine but the rest of the night was i guess his own melodies which got a little annoying. Other than that, it was great as usual.

Fantastic Dining Experience at Fork NJ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fork NJ in Rahway, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance is modern and sophisticated, with a stylish yet welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a night out. The hostess Ashley was amazing. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The sushi pizza and burrata were excellent starters, fresh, well-balanced, and delicious. For the main course, the short ribs were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, while the tuna was a standout dish with a perfect sear and seasoning. To finish, the vanilla and chocolate tartufo was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The owner, Nicky, personally checked on guests, adding a personal touch to the experience. The cocktail selection was also impressive, with well-crafted drinks that complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, Fork NJ is a must visit spot for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Rahway. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a night out, this restaurant delivers on all fronts amazing food, great drinks, and top-notch service. I will definitely be returning! Went there with the family for dinner and they always impress . The restaurant owners and managers always make you feel like you’re welcome. The food was great like usual.
