It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years. Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

    It was my girlfriend’s birthday so I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner. We have heard of Linwoods but have never been. I made the reservation on Open Table…I received a call to confirm my appointment. I wrote on the reservation that it would be my girlfriend’s birthday so the waiter Ami (sp?) greeted her with a happy birthday wish and brought out a homemade s’mores dessert with a custom marshmallow. We both had fish, I had the pan seared Halibut and she had the Salmon. She opted for the Malbec and I had an Old Fashioned with Angel’s Envy bourbon! The best!

    Great experience overall. Our waitress was amazing! Food was great- except the Coconut Crab soup. Best calamari ever. Nice recognition of my son for his birthday. A little disappointed that after I ordered the Branzino, I was told a while later that it was all frozen and could not be ready for one hour. Ambience was nice. Been here several times, this was an improvement from before- would definitely return.

    Went on a Wednesday at 5:15 and sat at the corner table near the kitchen. We had the chicken pie and the pork ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans. The rib dinner was enough for 2 people to split. Our waitress was very good and we had everything we needed.

    We went there on a Friday evening and it wasn't too crowded. The food was very good and came out fairly quickly.
