Here, on the Central Coast of California, BBQ has always meant grilling over an open fire of red oak, a style of cooking that is native to our area and goes back to the days of the Spanish Rancheros.     We had a party of 6 and shared several starters in addition to our main courses, a couple deserts and some cocktails. The service was great. Every dish was beautifully presented, unique and absolutely delicious! This was my second time eating here (live locally), but it was a first for everyone else and they all raved about their meal. Highly recommend the Gathering Table!

    I've been eating at the Buellton Hitching Post for over 30 years and can't remember a bad meal, plate, or drink. This is a special restaurant that never lost its soul. It's not about plating, or stuffiness or a 50 page wine list. JJ the wine buyer puts together a great list that goes from great local BTG specials to a cellar that sports 1962 Lafite. Bring your friends and trust the 'Post' to exceed your expectations. Don't sleep on the duck, the mushrooms, the pork chop, and of course the steaks are fire--my choice is the filet.
