Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

James Beard-nominated, Chef's Prix Fixe Tasting Experience by Executive Chef Jose Camarena, recontextualizes Mexican cuisine and culture through Storytelling. We exclusively offer a prix fixe tasting menu experience, with 7-Course and a 10-Course options. Both experiences are meant to honor the complex history that created each dish, as well as leave a lasting impact on all those who taste this beautiful food and listen to our stories. República is a tasting menu-only restaurant. We offer a 7-course menu at $128 or a 10-course menu at $150 per person.     Outstanding service, food, and ambience…we had the fiery ahi and the scallops & shrimp! The service was amazing, especially the bartenders who were very gracious and warm as we waited for our table!!! Plan to go again soon!!!!

    When we travel from Seattle to Portland we always try to have a dinner at Nostrana, The food is simply prepared and perfect every time we have had dinner. They serve a wide range of people from dating couples to oldsters like us. Drinks and wine also very well chosen and well prepared. Service is attentive. Be sure to get a reservation ! Dr David Celio

    Love De Noche! Weil, our server was great, they were understaffed last night. It was also quite a full house, which made the noise level much higher than it’s been in previous times we’ve died there.  We will be back, but would love to see more people on hand to work to enable a wine pairing with the tasting menu!
