Honoring classic French cuisine, Mon Ami Gabi is a traditional French bistro located in the heart of Lincoln Park. Riccardo started his career at a very young age in Milan's prestigious "GIRARROSTO" family owned. Then, in 1982 he moved to the United States and he opened the famous Sonny Bono's in Los Angeles. In 1987 he started to work with his cousin Roberto Ruggeri, with him he opened Bice New York, Los Angeles and many others around the world. Together with his wife (and sous chef), Veronica, and his cousin (and hostess), Barbara, he decided to continue his gastronomic artistry and creativity in his restaurant named after himself "Riccardo Trattoria."Here through the craftsmanship of an Italian food connoisseur, dishes are prepared with an almost zen-like essentiality that has shaped Riccardo's professional and existential life course. Some highlights of the menu are Veal Chop Milanese, Veal Shank Osso Bucco, Pappardelle with Short Rib Ragu, various classic Rissotto preparations, and for dessert options like Panna Cotta, Homemade Tiramisu and Tuscan Ricotta Cheesecake round out the menu.

The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today. While there's a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. Riccardo Michi comes from a restaurant Family in Milan established since 1943 called Girarrosto, one of the first Tuscan restaurants in town and still operating.After moving to the US, Riccardo opened Sonny Bono, IL Giardino Ristorante and Madeo Ristorante in Beverly Hills. In 1987 he helped his cousin Roberto Ruggeri open the first Bice restaurant in New York City. Since then, he has worked in the opening of many of the restaurants in the group. In 2002 Riccardo moved to Chicago with his wife Veronica to be the executive chef of Bice on Ontario.Finally Riccardo and Veronica, also a chef, decided to open their own place and in 2006 called Riccardo Trattoria. Considered by many to be the top Italian restaurant in town, receiving the Bib Gourmand from Michelin in 2011, 2012 and 2013.Now, Riccardo and Veronica have opened Riccardo Enoteca, right across the street from Riccardo Trattoria on Clark.

Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style.     Our waiter, Seth, was top-notch. He made the dinner experience THAT much better. Food was incredible, don’t get me wrong, but a really good waiter is hard to come by.

    The food was delicious! Too many choices! We selected one featured lobster/pasta dish and a melt in your mouth veal dish. The Italian wine went so well with the meal. But my boyfriend enjoyed their Italian beer. We weren’t rushed at all so we were able to take our time and enjoy the ambiance, the meal, and being together. One customer gave us some advice on their favorites. When we left they even came over and asked us how we enjoyed our evening. It couldn’t have been better. They shared with us that they have been coming for twenty years! We will be back! Susie & Ryan from Iowa

    Finally had a larger booth for 4 of us (last couple times in a small one) / food good as always! Server pretty good, just couple times hadn’t checked in and happened to need something. Our annual tradition after LP Zoo lights 😉. Always love eating here (and do other times during year), just wish prices didn’t keep going up (as they do everywhere)

    As always, Riccardo's Enoteca was awesome. The food, the ambiance, and the service were all great. We had arugula salad with artichokes, polpettine, a pizza with pear, gorgonzola and walnuts, and a veal parmigiana. Everything was delicious, but I specifically recommend trying polpettine and the pear, gorgonzola and walnuts pizza. They are both very tasty and unique to this location.
