Opened in June 1922, The Tam O'Shanter boasts a rich, storied history and warm, inviting atmosphere. We’re proud to be in our 10th decade of continuous service. We originally considered it a quiet pastoral road stop, since Los Feliz Boulevard was just an unpaved country lane traversed by rabbits and rabbit hunters, in that order.Everything changed when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers, and crews began trekking out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. Reservations are recommended but we make every effort to accommodate walk-ins when possible.     Dined last night for our anniversary and was provided a lovely card (upon arrival) and brownie a la mode after our meal. Terry was our waiter for the evening. He was attentive, honest, and provided helpful recommendations. My partner got the 12 oz filet and I chose the branzino. Only comment is that the sauce on the fish was bland. It needed more taste.

    Our favorite neighborhood spot. The food is always extraordinary. We had couple of less than stellar experiences out of many the were, in fact, stellar. Lately and especially yesterday, the experience was fantastic. Everyone was friendly. The service was paced perfectly. We took friends from out of town to experience Saffy’s and they could not stop raving about every dish. We all had a hard time picking the best of the night. Great spot. Highly recommended. RG.

    We ordered the prime rib and it was delicious. It was very tender. The prime rib was prepared the way we ordered it and the sides (creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding) were wonderful. We enjoyed our meal and our service was friendly and attentive.

    Highly recommend this place! I’ve been here so many times because the small plates are well priced and always delicious. I would pay more if they charged more because the food is that good. This is my favorite mediterranean restaurant in LA. We had the glazed pork, sea bass, brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, lamb hummus, and “the best cake”. The lamb hummus with pita was to die for and the cake is my favorite gluten free dairy free way to end any meal. Best. Cake. Ever. We’re still talking about this meal days later. The silverlake location is definitely the most beautiful one and the biggest with its multiple levels of seating within the trees.
