Mamakas Taverna is an elegant 85-seat Greek taverna on Ossington Ave. Owner Thanos Tripi brings a fresh, authentic approach to Aegean food, offering classical Greek dishes against a contemporary canvas. Each plate is thoughtfully crafted to evoke the way Thanos’ grandmother cooked, inviting guests to explore the Greece he grew up with through food, art and music.Meant to mimic an open market, the room is built of white concrete blocks creating an effect similar to the stucco seen throughout Greece. Mamakas is a nod to heritage, history and family memories – the daily trip to the market for ripe and fragrant tomatoes. Visiting a trusted butcher for fresh paithakia, and the local fish monger for the daily catch.Recipes passed down through generations. Honest Greek fare with a modern twist. Designed to share. Everything just as Thanos’ family has done through the ages.

Please message us or give us a call if you are running late. Your table will be reserved for 1h45m hours for parties of up to 2, 2 hours for parties of 3-6, and 2.5 hours for parties of 7 and above starting from the time of the booked reservation. Important Waitlist InformationAfter being notified your table is ready, you will have 5 minutes to confirm via SMS. Once a confirmation has been received on our end, the table will be held for an additional 10 minutes.

    Linny's offers the whole package. A unique and elegantly designed space with an atmosphere that takes you back to the 50's, paired with warm service and delicious food. We started with the challah service, which is baked daily and served with a delicious housemade jam that apparently changes with the seasons. After that, a few noshes; the fresh house salad tossed with bulgar and champagne vinegraite, king salmon served with crispy potato latkes, and the unexpectedly delightful kasha bows pasta, which was complimented perfectly by the addition of truffles. For our mains, we enjoyed a combination of perfectly cooked hanger steak, mushroom crepe, and the crunchiest fries on ossington. The cabbage with beemster cheese was also *chefs kiss* 👌 Our server Vanessa and the whole team was very friendly, and we can't wait to come back. PS. The babka dessert was incredible, but also try the apple cake with a scoop of their vanilla ice cream for good measure.

    Fresh ingredients done deliciously. I've never had a Negroni like theirs. We did the tasting menu and we can't wait to come back with more friends to try the rest of the menu.

    We just celebrated our anniversary here, and were extremely impressed with the exemplary and friendly service, the quality and taste of the food and presentation of the food. Certainly a five-star type of bar/restaurant! Would highly recommend to anyone and we will definitely return. Also received two free complimentary glasses of Prosecco.
