Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Their cuisine is influenced by the flavorful Creole cuisine, with Contemporary Louisiana. Other influences include the Southwest, California, and Asia using fresh local and seasonal ingredients. The carefully selected wines pay tribute to the well crafted wines of North America while offering many of the traditional Old World styles of Europe. Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. The menu will highlight staples from the Shaya menu plus an array of small plates, hummus, sandwiches, and slow-roasted meats.

    We always enjoy eating at Gallagher’s Grill. This time we had the tuna appetizer and steak with the garlic mashed potatoes. Perfectly prepared…juicy and delicious! Highly recommend the restaurant, but I suggest making a reservation as they book up quickly.

    Gavin was our waiter and he made our dining experience truly enjoyable. We started with the tuna tartar and the arugula beet salad, then we had the crab soup. You should always get the crab soup. I had the sea bass special, it was delicious and my friend had the veal with 3 sauces. We finished dinner with the apple tart. Everything was divine. We will definitely go back again.

    We visited The English Tea Room a few days after Christmas for the Christmas High Tea. The service was excellent and we had plenty of delicious food for all 5 of us. Everyone really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was great and we never felt rushed to finish. I highly recommend this place!

    We’ve made it a tradition to have lunch every year on Christmas Eve with our kids. The food and waiter were amazing! I accidentally made a reservation for 2 instead of 4. The host/manager seemed aggravated. I apologized twice otw to the table and he ignored me. Other than that we had a great time!
