The last of its kind near 42nd Street, Chez Josephine is a neighborhood gem founded in 1986 by Jean-Claude Baker as a tribute to legendary Josephine Baker.     It was a little tricky to find the actual restaurant because it was inside of a hotel. Otherwise it was absolutely lovely. I had a party of 7. 3 of my guests arrived early, and were seated at my reserved table immediately. Junior was our server and took wonderful care of us. We ended up staying for a few hours because it was a reunion of friends and no one rushed us out. The Host actually said he loved our groups energy and welcomed us back. We had a great time. I highly recommend!

    We’ve eaten at Carmine’s a few times now but we love eating there during this time of year. Carmine’s is the perfect spot for a festive holiday meal! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautiful decorations that set the holiday mood. The service is top-notch—attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. Their family-style Italian dishes are absolutely delicious, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing. So, for being in the heart of NYC, it’s a decent value for our family. Whether it’s a holiday gathering or just a night out, Carmine’s delivers a memorable dining experience

    Solid work lunch. Tasty food, prompt and courteous service. Nice ambiance. Lively but not too loud. Any restaurant worth eating at is expensive these days. Expect $30 salads. lol

    Went for lunch on Saturday. Did not realize there would be a DJ, so it rather loud. Good weekend brunch spot for large parties, less so for two people who want to converse. Food is very good, prices not unreasonable. Close walk to Hudson Yards.
