Monte's Trattoria is an Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Greenwich Village on MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker. This vintage Italian restaurant has existed since 1918 and the Mosconi family has continued its rich tradition. Chef Pietro Mosconi delivers authentic Northern Italian dishes from his region of Emilia-Romagna and is often seen in the dining room conversing with patrons. You'll find a friendly cozy atmosphere. The waiters and bartenders, whom you'll know by name, are always affable and ready to please. A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). Please note, there will be a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes for guests so we can fairly utilize our limited capacity. Our outdoor dining is enclosed with heaters that will keep you toasty!     Same location since 1918 and only three owners in all that time. Mussels in white sauce were outstanding, soaked up with bread drizzled with a wonderfully fruity olive oil. House salad a standout. Pasta with red clam sauce stupendous. Old school Italian restaurants like this are disappearing from NYC. Go to Monte’s now!

    As an Italian, Song E Napule is my go to Italian restaurant in NYC. They have the best pizza - I love their dough and quality of ingredients. Their pastas are also amazing especially the nerano and scarpariello. I strongly suggest the polpette (meatballs) too. They are the only good polpette I've had in NYC, honestly. Also, their COCCOLE are so good (fried pizza with nutella) !!! I think this is one of the only NYC restaurants where, through service, ambience, and especially food, it really feels like being in Italy. Grazie :))

    A great spot for brunch. Food was very good. Tables are a bit close and the noise level is high, but that is unfortunately the norm these days. Highly recommended for brunch.

    Love this place. Probably our fourth or fifth visit overall. Food is always fresh. We got the grand seafood tower and Parker rolls this time and they did not disappoint. Perfect little feast that did not weigh us down before our concert a few blocks away. The crab hand rolls are so creamy and delicious. The rolls were beautifully made, soft and crunchy. So good. A definite go to date night spot with my new husband.
